Common questions
Why did a task move up a level?
A task that hasn't been touched for seven days moves up one level. Editing it, adding notes, ticking a step or focusing on it all count as touching it. Just opening it doesn't. HEED shows a short summary of what moved when you next open the app.
How do I stop a task from moving up while I wait on someone?
Open the task and choose Park task. You can park it for up to 14 days, and it won't age while it's parked.
How do I finish a task?
Tap the circle on its tile, slide to complete inside the task, or type "done" on its own line in the notes. You can undo for a few seconds afterwards, and finished tasks can be restored from the Done log.
I'm going away. Can I pause everything?
Yes. Choose Going away in the menu and pick the day you're back. Tasks stop ageing and reminders go quiet until then, and one tap brings everything back early.
I'm not getting reminders.
Check that notifications for HEED are turned on in the Settings app, under Notifications. You can change the four reminder times from Reminders in HEED's menu. If Critical reminders should come through a Focus, turn on Time Sensitive Notifications for HEED.
Why don't I see Brain dump suggestions or Break it down?
These use Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. Without it, HEED still splits a brain dump line by line using built-in rules.
Where are my tasks stored? Can I sync them?
Your tasks are stored only on your iPhone and included in your normal iPhone backups. HEED doesn't sync between devices. See the privacy policy for details.
